The potato originated in South America where the Incas had cultivated it for over a thousand years when the Spanish conquistadores subjugated them in the early 16th century. The Spaniards brought the plant to Europe where it became one of the most important food crops in many countries by the late 18th century. Munor invites you to a musical autumn cassarole of potato- and autumn-inspired music by, among others, Antonio Vivaldi and Astor Piazzola – the father of “tango nuevo” – and featuring a potato cantate. As a culinary supplement Carlos’s café will serve potato soup.
The Lunch Concert is part of the Food Festival in the Library in Haugesund.
