In 1886 the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns (190 years old this year) composed ”The Carnival of the Animals’, a humourous musical suite that became very popular. The composer himself, however, regretted the piece and forbade its performance during his lifetime. He was afraid that it would damage his reputation as a serious composer. The only movement he allowed was ”The Swan” for solo cello. But the musical world did not pay much attention to the composer’s prohibition, nor does Munor. We therefore invite you to a carneval concert of a selection of movements from ”The Carneval of the Animals.” In addition there might be other musical surprises.
Come in costume if you dare!
