Ditte Marie Bræin, Mari Askvik, Bocca Chamber Choir and the Munor Ensemble conducted by Ive Buch Romme
”Dixit Dominus” (The Lord Said) is one of the most significant works of church music by the young George Frideric Handel. It was composed in 1707 during Handel’s stay in Rome and sets to music the Latin text of the Bible’s Psalm 110, which announces Christ as prophet and lord over all the lands of the earth. The work is performed by the prize-winning Bocca Chamber Choir and an enlarged Munor ensemble. The soloists are two of Norway’s finest singers of baroque music: Ditte Marie Bræin, soprano, and Mari Askvik, mezzo-soprano. In addition, instrumental and a capella works will be performed.
