Finland’s Independence Day is December 6th, 1917. The country has a strong people who have endured many difficult times. Munor contributes to their national celebration with a concert dedicated to Finnish music. Finland’s great composer Jean Sibelius is of course represented by his immortal “Finlandia”, but also several other Finnish composers are on the programme. We are very fortunate to have the participation of violinist Victoria Johnson. She has had solo performances at the Bergen International Festival, Borealisfestival for experimental music (Bergen), and Soundwaves (London) among others. Her passion for contemporary music has resulted in several commissioned works and three recordings. She is the only person in Norway with a doctorate in electronic violin performance.
